Durham Region has much to offer in all fields of advanced manufacturing through a diversified, yet well-balanced manufacturing sector. This is highlighted by expertise in the automotive, metal fabrication, environmental, biological and life sciences, and aerospace, as well as IT and engineered assembly systems.

The Region’s climate and rich agricultural lands produce a diverse selection of commodities. A skilled workforce, availability of serviced land and buildings, and established networks support growth in the agri-business and food-processing sectors.

Durham Region is proud to be part of the Greater Toronto Area’s (GTA) interactive digital technologies cluster, the third-largest in North America, only behind New York and California.

Durham Region produces 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity and is home to two nuclear generating stations. Its innovative business climate, post-secondary institutions and established energy network supports growth of the Energy sector.
